Chair racing - the next office craze? Germany has played host to the world's first Office Chair Racing Championship, in a game that could have offices across London taking note.

Bad Koenig-Zell was the site of the tournament, with 70 entrants vying for the title of office chair racing champion.

Based on an idea generated in Switzerland, the event combines daredevil thrills with the mundane office chair.

"It is actually quite scary, it is quite steep up there on the ramp," one competitor, Ronny Moritz, told ITV.

Organiser Rene Karg said the event was "well received", adding "there is a lot of action here on the streets".

A downhill slope was the site for the race, while fancy dress was the order of the day instead of usual office attire.

It remains to be seen if the championships take off and if London offices follow suit.
