A law firm which was growing increasingly concerned about the amount of space its paperwork was taking up has taken action, it has been reported.
Shepherd and Wedderburn, which has offices in the east of London, has switched 100 of its desktop printers with 23 workgroup multi-function devices, according to itpro.co.uk.
This has not only cut the cost of its bills but is also said to have increased the physical office space available to workers within the building.
"The move to more electronic documents has resulted in a major cultural shift for staff, but they have really embraced the changes that have been made," Gary Alman, IT director at Shepherd and Wedderburn told the website.
"We've started to recognise the benefits of improved information sharing across offices and remote workers straight away, and we estimate that print volumes have dropped by 40 per cent."
Storing data and files on computer software can allow companies to free up their office space previously used for storing paper documents.
Shepherd and Wedderburn also has offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen.
