Make to design new Hammerson development

Make Architects have been chosen by property development and investment company Hammerson to design a new scheme for a 77,500 square-foot site on London Wall, on which they signed an option agreement earlier this year. Make was started by Ken Shuttleworth in 2004 and has offices in Birmingham, Beijing, Dubai and Abu Dhabi as well as London.

The firm is already responsible for almost two dozen projects in the capital, including the award-winning mixed-space scheme at 55 Baker Street, which includes 500,000 square feet of prime office space as well as retail, residential and leisure areas.

For their new development at London Wall, Hammerson require around 700,000 square feet of office space, for single or multiple occupancy. A spokesman for Hammerson stated: ‘Design excellence is a priority for this scheme, its location demands a thoughtful and sensitive response, and we are confident that Make will deliver this.’
