Allen & Overy to consolidate space

Top law firm Allen & Overy announced that it will be consolidating its offices by moving 200 staff from their Canary Wharf space into new headquarters in Bishopsgate in the City, retaining 20,000 square feet at Bank Street at around £45 per square foot.

The law firm will be sub letting the remaining London office space on the lower three floors of the building. However, Allen & Overy will keep on one floor at the 40 Bank Street Canary Wharf building for client meetings, in order, a spokesperson has said, to make sure that ‘clients will experience no difference in the level of service they receive.’

The new building at 1 Bishops Square, Bishopsgate shouldn’t give too bad an impression though: Allen & Overy have 850,000 square feet there, as opposed to the 64,500 at Bank Street, and the Bishopsgate building itself was designed by renowned modernist architect Sir Norman Foster.
