Parts of the iconic BBC Television Centre have been put up for sale in London.
It is thought the 14-acre site will provide new space for offices in London and is bound to spark a flurry of bids.
The BBC hopes the sale will raise millions of pounds. It is sacrificing 50 years of broadcasting history at the site, where shows like Strictly Come Dancing are filmed.
The company hopes the sale will be completed by 2015, when staff will move to the newly-built Broadcasting House in central London, or the new BBC headquarters in Salford.
The BBC is still looking at whether to sell the centre outright, or look for a joint-ownership scheme. Bosses said they would make the best decision for licence-fee payers and the corporation.
