The home of a significant amount of London office space, the capital’s Tech City has been provided with a boost as a number of high-profile companies have revealed their intentions to develop offices in the area.
Financial Times has reported that Chancellor George Osbourne will announce a series of investments in the area. One of the investments is a technology lab constructed by telecommunications giant, Vodafone.
Other firms planning to develop locations in Tech City include Japanese mobile gaming company, Gree – who are planning to start a development studio in the area – and Italian business accelerator, Morning Boost.
Tech City was provided with another boost earlier in the week as both Amazon and Facebook announced new developments in the city. Whilst these developments aren’t actually located in Tech City, they have helped to reinforce the idea that London can draw in the biggest names from the technology industry and, at the same time, create an area similar to the Silicon Valley in America.
