Councillors have told a property developer its latest building will spoil the Queen’s view from her gardens in Buckingham Palace, propertyweek has reported.
Land Securities is hoping to build two 128 metrehigh buildings at London’s Victoria train station and offer 2.9 billion square feet of office space and residential property.
Mike Hussey, development director, said the site was difficult to develop and it would cause serious problems if the council insisted on major changes.
"They are criticising where we are putting the buildings," he said, "But you can only develop on about 30 per cent of the site," propertyweek reported him saying.
The Nationwide House Price Report revealed that residential prices dropped by 0.8 per cent in November and lowered the average price of a UK house by nearly £2,000.
Figures from the Halifax confirmed a similar fall of 1.1 per cent over the month.
