Nottingham based civil engineering firm BWB Consulting has announced plans to open a London office.
The firm’s new office space will be located in London’s Borough Market, close to The Shard.
Claiming two floors of London office space the firm says it will create a team of 35 employees in the UK capital to support significant projects it has recently won there. These include a development on the Isle of Dogs, and a regeneration project in Stratford near to the Olympic Park.
BWB managing director, Steve Wooler, said: “We are already involved in helping to deliver flagship developments, but we know there are other significant opportunities in London and the South-East. So the new office is very much a statement of intent and a shop window, in one of the world’s great cities, for what we do.
“The primary focus of our London office will be first-class project co-ordination and delivery, rather than ‘nuts and bolts’ design work.
He said: “The technical ‘engine’ of our business will generally remain outside the capital, with the majority of detail design work undertaken by project teams based in other regional offices.
Currently employing over 180 people, the firm has seen an increase in growth across all offices according to Wooler.
He said: “We have got some very significant projects under our belt driven by strong, long-term relationships, and we now need to expand to meet rising demand.”
BWB owns offices in Leeds, Birmingham and Manchester exclusive of its Nottingham headquarters.
