Construction on Axa Real Estate’s new London office project is set to begin, following the appointment of Balfour Beatty as principle contractor.
The building, known as Sixty London, is set to be located on a site previously home to Bath House. As well as featuring 215,000 sq ft of Grade A office space – an increase of 20,000 sq ft of floor space – Sixty London will also contain 20,000 sq ft of retail and restaurant space.
Scheduled for completion during 2013, the office is located within 20 minutes of the capital’s major rail stations.
UK director of development at Axa Real Estate, Harry Badham, commented on the project.
He said: “Our team has worked incredibly hard over the past year to finalise and enhance the design and specification of Sixty London and to procure a construction programme – which began last summer – that meets our 2013 delivery timetable.
“We are now very excited to hand over the final construction phase to Balfour Beatty, which has an excellent team and track record, to deliver this fantastic new prime office building,” he concluded.
