Developer Skanska will construct new London office space as part of an upcoming project at 6 Bevis Marks, located in the Ward of Aldgate.
The Swedish firm will oversee the construction of the new 230,000 sq ft building – comprising of 16-storeys. Work on the project will commence immediately with a completion date penned in for the autumn of 2013.
Set with a target of achieving a BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method) rating of ‘excellent,’ it has been planned for the property to feature a number of measures aimed at increasing energy efficiency levels.
Amongst these measures are a rainwater harvesting system, a sophisticated energy reclaim system and an energy efficient lighting system; the building will also possess the ability to generate both heat and power – ensuring that it will achieve the current energy saving requirements by around 40 per cent.
The 6 Bevis Marks development will replace an existing, but outdated property.
