Cornerstone expands into Europe


Advertising agency, Cornerstone, expands London office space after hiring new team members, to extend reach into Europe.

Cornerstone has hired Rob Mathie as their new account director, specifically for their work with Coca Cola and Diageo. Mathie comes with experience from HeyHuman, where he worked on their accounts for both Lucozade and Unilever.

Former activation manager at Addidas Originals, Lawrence Ajayi, is now part of Cornerstone’s Converse account, amongst others, whilst Cailan de Villiers has also been hired to works as the creative company’s account coordinator.

All new senior members will report directly to Ollie Oshodi, managing director of Cornerstone. Oshodi was responsible for winning large accounts last year, such as Coca Cola.

Co-chief executive, Jon Cohen, commented on the company’s expansion and how branching out into Europe makes complete sense.

Cohen stated: “We’re using the London office as a way to navigate all of Europe. It’s a great base for us to run everything we’re doing in Spain, Amsterdam, and then the rest of the EMEA territory.”

Cornerstone have shown an interest in reaching younger audiences in a more sophisticated way, concentrating on the quality of the content instead of the medium through which they advertise. This also fuelled the company’s expansion into Brazil last month.
