DVD and film rental site LoveFilm is expanding its London offices, according to the Guardian.
The company was recently bought out by Amazon, which now wants to expand its digital downloads section.
It is hiring 40 new staff for the London LoveFilm offices, based in the W3 district of the capital.
LoveFilm is looking to tap new revenue through online film streams – its provisional business model was based around sending out rental DVDs and video games through the traditional post.
The London office expansion will add to LoveFilm’s currently 380-strong UK staff, with 168 based in London, as well as its offices in Europe.
LoveFilm’s chief executive, Simon Calver, said: “Following Amazon’s acquisition of LoveFilm we have created around 40 jobs at our London office, half of which are in the technology and digital sphere.”
