Silicon Valley-based provider of cloud file sharing technology Egnyte has announced that it’s to open a new European headquarters in London.
The company already has a data centre set-up in Amsterdam, Holland, which primarily caters to those who don’t want their data to be stored in the US. However, with this office opening it’s looking to expand on a regional level – it’s expecting European business to account for 20 per cent of its revenue by the end of 2014.
Its location will also enable the company to more effectively serve the needs of its client base.
Around 25 people will occupy Egnyte’s London office space initially, however, it has hopes to increase that figure to more than 100 during the next five years.
Commenting on the opening of the new office, Egnyte’s CEO Vineet Jain, spoke to Cloud Pro.
He said: “London is a good place to grow into Europe and we have seen that with other companies.
“There is also an affinity between the UK and the US which helps the transition and geographically it is well located, as we have a particular focus on the Benelux countries and the Nordics,” he concluded.
Egnyte ‘s current European client roster includes the likes of Mothercare, Oxford University and Red Bull.
