Expedia travels to new London home

Holiday website Expedia has set up in a new London office at the Angel Building.

The online travel planning site has rented new office space from Derwent London, according to the ShareCast financial group.

Expedia has leased more than 81,000 square feet of space for £3.33m per year, and has signed up for a ten-year agreement.

The lease means Derwent has now found tenants for 95% of its space at the Angel Building, with Thai restaurant Busaba Eathai, taking just over 4,200 sq ft of space.

Derwent has shown its belief in the London market this year, and previously said it would be acquiring two new properties in the West End.

It said in March it was purchasing a £45m office in Victoria and a £31m property in Tottenham Court Road.
