After sustaining a European presence for nearly 20 years, Fifth Third has announced it is to open a London office.
The new office will be the base for the firm’s Origination and Client Coverage office for those EU companies with business operations in North America.
Located at 68 William Street, the Fifth Third see this European office as a way to serve its’ clients increasingly growing international operations.
Fifth Third’s executive vice president, Greg Kosch, said: “The London office represents a natural evolution and progression of our international business.
“The office puts Fifth Third Bank in the heart of Europe’s strongest financial district and demonstrates our commitment to the global wholesale market.”
It is hoped that the London office will enable Fifth Third to build stronger relationships with its European clients. Commenting on this Fifth Third’s senior managing director, Jan-Erik Anderson, said: “Building relationships with European based parent companies is an important international strategy for Fifth Third Bank.
Anderson added: “Serving as the core provider of financial solutions for their US operating subsidiaries represents a strong differentiator and value proposition for our clients.”
Fifth Third is a financial services firm which has assets of $133 billion.
The firm’s headquarters resides in Ohio. It also has an office in Toronto.
