A scheme aimed at making London office space more environmentally-friendly is headed for the capital.
The office recycling and collection project is being organised by Closed Loop Recycling (CLR) and will target four major UK cities, including London.
The scheme will help local businesses to recycle the large amounts of packaging which is thrown away by office workers after lunch each day.
It will also encourage workers to help create a green office through recycling waste paper and cardboard.
Managing director of CLR Chris Dow said: “Recycling at work is lagging behind recycling in the home.
“Not only is this inefficient and uneconomic for businesses, it is detrimental to the environment as waste that can easily be recycled often ends up in landfill.
“Our office recycling and collection scheme provides a simple solution to that problem.”
Recent figures from CLR show that around 80 per cent of office waste is recyclable.
