Social media management company HootSuite has become the latest digital firm to open a London office space.
Based in Canada, the company’s new office will act as its European headquarters. With the opening of the new office, HootSuite has also revealed that it plans to hire more staff to occupy the building – with 24 sales and support role positions currently vacant.
The company’s social media management tool allows businesses to monitor and post to multiple social networks (such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter) from one interface. Sony Music and McDonald’s are just two of the 79 companies ranked on the Fortune 100 that currently use the tool.
CEO of Hootsuite, Ryan Holmes, commented on what attracted the company to London.
He said (sic): “London’s agency culture is what attracted us to this market. It has been a big advantage to moving here as it opens up access to a wide variety of people who have experience working in these closely networked business structures.”
Meanwhile, Mayor of London Boris Johnson welcomed Hootsuite’s decision to open an office in the capital.

This is good news for Londoners meaning job creation and economic growth.
