International law firm plans to relocate to The Shard


Law firm Greenberg Traurig Maher is close to signing a lease for new London office space in The Shard.

It is expected that Greenberg Traurig Maher will sign for around 20,000 sq ft of space.

Greenberg Traurig Maher, part of the Greenberg Traurig global law firm, has established itself in London as a law firm which works within many disciplines, advising UK and multinational clients across a range of sectors . The London office currently has over 40 lawyers and is expanding.

The firm’s headquarters is currently based on the 7th floor of 200 Gray’s Inn Road, situated in Camden. However the firm needs to exit from this space in the next 18 months.

The Shard, located in Southwark, has received much interest from businesses of all industries since it first opened in 2012. Current occupants range from Tiffany & Co to Warwick Business School. Around 75 per cent of the tower is either currently let or under offer.

In 2014, The Shard came first at the Emporis Skyscraper Awards. The judges described the building as a “skyscraper that is recognised immediately and which is already considered London’s new emblem.” Standing at 309.6768 metres, The shard is the second-tallest free-standing structure in the UK.
