International construction services firm ISG has revealed that it has secured the contract for a £16 million London office refurbishment project.
The company will carry out work on City Tower at Basinghall Street on behalf of its owners Great Portland Estates and Starwood Capital. ISG will carry out refurbishment work on 10 of the building’s 21 storeys – measuring around 80,000 sq ft.
City Tower will be refurbished to meet a BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method) rating of very good and will remain partially open whilst the work is being carried out.
ISG are scheduled to complete work on the project by next summer (2013).
Managing director, Stuart Deverill, spoke with excitement following the announcement.
He stated: “Securing this high profile project was a hard fought process and our appointment undoubtedly recognises ISG’s capabilities delivering complex, logistically challenges schemes.
“As clients look to enhance the value and performance of their property portfolios, asset optimisation schemes represent an important source of opportunities for ISG, particularly with our requisite experience and delivery track record,” he added.
