U.S. Law firm Jenner & Block are set to open their first international office in spring this year. The firm, which specializes in corporate litigation and business transactions, has four other offices located in America.
The London office is located at Tower 42, 25 Old Broad Street – between the Bank of England and the London Stock Exchange. Managing partner, Terry Truax, stated that the leasing of the entire floor “provides us with an opportunity to grow steadily over the next couple years.” Intentions for the London office include focus on litigation, international arbitration, regulatory investigations and white collar crime.
Truax also confirmed that dual and U.S. qualified lawyers will be deployed from their Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Washington, D.C. offices to help oversee the transition. Once established, the intention is to recruit partners from other firms. The firm currently has more than 400 lawyers.
Jenner & Block say that the move to the capital is both strategic and well-timed, claiming that “the new London office will build on the firm’s well-known and respected capabilities handling litigation”.
The law firm’s revenue grew from just above $350m in 2013 to upwards of $400m last year, with the number only expected to rise following the occupation of a fifth international office.
