American firm Poker Royalty has opened its first London office in response to an increase in gaming in Europe and Asia.
Some of the world’s most famous poker players are represented by Poker Royalty, including Daniel Negreanu, Patrik Antonius and Phil Hellmuth.
The new office will be lead by Jim Erwood, who will become director of European Operations for the firm.
He said: "In the last few years, we have seen a tremendous growth of poker events and projects in Europe, Asia and South America.
"Having boots on the ground in Europe positions us to be able to capitalise on those opportunities and better serve our clients."
It is hoped that the addition of a London office to the headquarters in Las Vegas will mean that the company can better manage its European client base.
Poker Royalty’s move shows that companies are continuing to invest in London commercial property despite predictions of analysts such as Moody’s Investors Service which claims that the capital’s office market is waning.
