An annual survey has found that the UK capital remains the most attractive city in Europe to locate a business in 2010. Senior executives were interviewed from 500 top companies, and London came top in a number of categories, including for quality of transport links and availability of staff. In a related category, Birmingham scored highly for serviced office space. London and Birmingham finished fourth equal in terms of availability of office space.
The survey’s findings ties in with other recent data which suggests that the office market in the capital is now recovering faster than in any other European city. Prime rents have risen by ten percent in recent months, and optimism is such that speculative developments that were mothballed when the financial crisis hit are now being dusted off and started again.
As a result, office space in the capital is predicted to come into strong competition over the coming five years.
