An annual survey by Cushman & Wakefield has found London to be at the top of the most business friendly cities in the UK.
Alongside Manchester and Birmingham, the capital was found to come out best in 21 categories, including office space, staff resources, quality of life and transport links.
The survey also found that 41 per cent of businesses thought that regeneration through the London 2012 Olympics would have an impact on their workings.
Adrian Hill, head of business space at Cushman & Wakefield, said: “Many UK cities have seen a renaissance over the last few year with major regeneration projects delivering world class business and leisure environments.
“Although London no longer has a complete monopoly as the best business location, its critical mass means it is unlikely ever to be usurped as the UK’s number one.”
Elaine Rossall at the company said that London was among a small number of “world cities” meaning that office space in London was always going to be recognised as the most valuable.
Other UK cities that proved to offer a good business environment included Edinburgh, Sheffield and Leeds.
