Companies with offices in London look set to benefit from plans which are currently being developed by the capital’s mayor.
Boris Johnson says that he is working on an Economic Recovery Action Plan which will aim to help firms in the city that have been hit by the economic downturn.
Speaking about the scheme, he said that London “retains the many strengths” which propelled it to becoming a “world leader” in a number of sectors.
“Sitting back is not, and never was, an option and my team and I are redoubling our efforts to sell the benefits of London to the rest of the world,” he said.
He added that London was the “world’s greatest city” and that he was determined that is should remain so.
The plan, which is set to be published by Christmas, includes introducing a range of energy efficiency programmes to help London offices reduce their bills.
A number of projects aimed at regeneration and improving infrastructure are also set to get underway under the new mayor including upgrades to the tube and Crossrail.
