McLaren Construction has been awarded a contract to build new Shoreditch London offices.
Situated on Paul Street, the offices will form part of a larger three mixed-use property development financed by McLaren Property – the property arm of McLaren Construction – and Apache Capital in a joint venture.
It will replace a former car park and an unused office building at the site.
The Paul Street scheme is set to provide 43,000 sq ft of office space in London, as well as 419 rooms to be used as student accommodation.
It’s been announced that the offices will be built to A grade specifications – using blocks constructed from reinforced concrete and clad in a reinforced concrete, masonry brickwork and cladding panels.
Work on the project is to commence shortly, with a scheduled completion date of summer 2015 – just in time for the start of the academic year.
Managing director at McLaren Construction, Phil Pringle, commented on the award of the contract.
He stated: “We are very pleased to have been instructed by McLaren Property and Apache Capital on this project, which sees us furthering our influence in the London mixed-use sector and especially, commercial office and student accommodation schemes, building on the recent successful completion of Marble Arch House for British Land and Paris Gardens for McLaren Property.”
