British construction company Morgan Sindall has won a contract to build a new seven-storey London office building.
Worth around Â£30 million, Morgan Sindall were awarded the contract by developer Derwent London and will demolish the buildings that currently stand at 40-45 Chancery Lane. These buildings will make way for a brand new property, which will feature 102, 000 sq ft of office space – completed to a grade A standard.
The office building will also feature green roofs and low energy lighting in a bid to achieve an excellent BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method) rating.
Having been awarded the contract, managing director of Morgan Sindall’s London office, stated: “We are very pleased to have been appointed to this ambitious, distinctive scheme by Derwent London, which will deliver flexible grade A office space in the centre of London’s legal district.”
Work on demolishing the existing buildings at the site has already begun, whilst construction work is scheduled to finish in September 2014.
