Commuters who travel to offices in London may benefit from new transport plans which have been announced by the city’s mayor.
Boris Johnson has outlined his vision for the capital’s transport system which should help London office employees enjoy a less stressful journey into work.
Mr Johnson said he wanted to “improve Londoners’ quality of life” through investing billions of pounds into the transport system.
Londoners, he said, can look forward to a Tube network which will have its capacity boosted by 30 per cent, as well as the Crossrail which will “revolutionise the way we get across the city”.
“London has some fantastic transport infrastructure, but often you get the sense that solutions have been designed around the technology, rather than around the people it is supposed to serve,” Mr Johnson said.
“Our guiding principle of value for money will mean that Londoners money is invested wisely on projects that deliver real results.”
Airport operator BAA pledged earlier this week to put £230 million towards the Crossrail project.
