News Corporation has announced it is to redevelop its Wapping site
The media group had considered a 500,000 sq ft relocation to new offices in London but backed off from possible moves to the City and Docklands locations.
“Wapping is not only important as a physical site, but also it is a symbol of how bold individuals, working together, can advance the world of media and thereby contribute to life in Britain,” said chairman and chief executive of Europe and Asia James Murdoch.
The corporation will instead bring in staff from its other companies to the improved site.
Among those moving will be 20th Century Fox, MySpace, and Harper Collins it has been reported.
According to Property Week, News Corporation selected architects Future Systems to design the scheme, and Arub to manage engineering and sustainability.
