The British Council for Offices (BCO) has unveiled the best workplaces in London at its annual awards ceremony.
Held at Park Lane London Hilton, 700 of the UK’s best property designers, developers and architects were in attendance as One Eagle Place, the BBC Broadcasting House and Brent Civic Centre took away the afternoon’s most high-profile awards.
One Eagle Place received the award for Best Commercial Workplace. Situated in Piccadilly, the renovated building was redesigned by Eric Parry Architects and developed by The Crown Estate, HOOPP and Stanhope. Its design combines the building’s original period façades with more contemporary features. One Eagle Place features 60,000 sq of premium London office space, as well as residential accommodation and retail space.
The judges described One Eagle Place as “a daunting and challenging project” which was dealt with “bravely and sensitively.”
The Brent Civic Centre, based in Wembley, and the recently renovated BBC Broadcasting House, Portland Place, shared the Best Corporate Workplace award.
Each of the winners of the London regional event will now progress through to the national awards – and will have a chance of winning the BCO’s ‘Best of the Best’ award.
This event will take place in October (2014).
