Ontario Teachers’ pension plan expand London office

Following the promotion of Ontario Teachers’ Jo Taylor, from head of private equity to managing director of all equity operations in Europe and the Middle East, the Canadian funds company is expanding its London office space.

Ontario Teachers’ has approximately $140 billion in net worth and is the largest pension plan provider for a single-profession in Canada. As of December 2013, the pension plan company has assets at an approximate value of $21 billion.

The office expansion  will be taking place next year on Portland Square, where the new premises will bring together both the private equity arm of Teachers’ Private Capital, as well as its infrastructure and long-term equities department, which are currently all located on Curzon Street.

Ontario Teachers first established its London office space in 2007 but needs to further expand, following its growth, and to accommodate a larger team.

Taylor who recently joined the company in 2012 will be the main guide within London and the EU and will also become a member of the Teachers’ Investment Committee.

Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer, Neil Petroff stated: “Taylor’s expanding role reflects our commitment to growing our global presence” he added, ” deepening our long term relationships with our partners in key markets.”
