A PR company has designed its London office space in a unique way which actively encourages relaxation among colleagues.
Amid the numerous forward-thinking features of the new London office of Edelman is a cocktail bar which opens up to staff at 5pm.
Speaking to the Financial Times, Robert Phillips, Edelman’s UK chief executive said that the bar is a great way to help employees and clients de-stress.
“People start in a much more relaxed way in the bar and then go into a presentation and you’ve broken down the barriers,” he said.
He added that the new modern office design had so far proven a great success with the company’s win rate on cross-practice pitches rising by 30 to 40 per cent in four months.
A recent survey by Gensler, the commercial property architect which designed the unique workspace, said two-thirds of UK workers are unhappy with their current office.
The company’s European director of workspace, Gary Wheeler, told the newspaper: “More and more, offices of the future will be about knowledge sharing and we’ll do [the rest of] our jobs somewhere else – wherever we need to be to get the information.”
