The Real Estate Investment Trust portal (Reita) will publish monthly commercial property stats after pressure from investors.
It will generate data that shows the difference between the capitalisation of a company and the value of its net assets.
“We are frequently asked for discount to net asset value figures, as they represent an important indicator of current and future performance,” FTadvisor.com reported David Butler, head of external affairs said.
Making this information available is part of Reita’s “core role of helping to educate and explain more about the property industry to both private investors and financial advisers,” he added.
The data will be provided by the European Public Real Estate Association, which hopes the Reita figures bring added clarity to the market.
Its research director, Fraser Hughes, told FTadviser.com it “represents another step forward in supporting good practice for the UK market through the provision of transparent information”.
