Network Rail have relaunched their nationwide property portfolio, which includes 3,800 units at stations around London – making it the capital’s largest estate of commercial property. London stations have approximately 10 million square feet of retail and office space. Network Rail Property, as it is now known, previously traded under the name of Spacia.
In total, Network Rail own 7,000 property units at major stations around the country, and are one of the UK’s largest land owners. The units are predominantly let to small and medium businesses, and part of the income from them is reinvested in the rail network.
David Biggs, Network Rail’s director of property, commented about the relaunch in a press release, ‘You can now come to Network Rail for everything from simple leasehold, or a multi-million pound joint-venture partnership… it will make it easier and more efficient for anyone wanting to do business with Network Rail in the future.’
