The new London headquarters of the Willis Group has been officially opened by His Royal Highness the Duke of York.
Bosses at the insurance brokerage firm, whose name the new Willis Building has adopted, have described the opening as an important moment for them and for the city.
The building contains thousands of square feet of office space and has established a new landmark in London.
More than 1,500 people were reportedly in attendance to see the Prince Andrew open the London office space at 51 Lime Street, which at 28 storeys high has become the fourth tallest tower in the city.
Chief executive and chairman of the Willis Group Joe Plumeri said:
"Moving into 51 Lime Street is about propelling our business into the future."
With 16,000 associates operating in office spaces worldwide, the Willis Group has suggested that it has "never been more passionate" about becoming the world’s top insurance brokerage business.
