Stanchion Payment Solutions, a South African payment solutions specialist, has announced the opening of a European office in London.
The company specialises in implementing, managing and enhancing payment systems for retailers, banks, payment processors and the vendors of payment systems. Its decision to open a London office and expand out into the European marketplace comes as a result of a recent increase in demand for its products and services.
Stanchion already has offices in its native South Africa, and a Middle East and North Africa office, established last year (2013) in Dubai.
Charlie McIver will head up the new London office and has stated that there were many markets besides the UK for payment technology, including Germany, France and Poland. The new office will allow the company to serve clients in these countries.
Speaking about the opening of its new office, Stanchion’s CEO, Graham Williams, said: “This new office heralds Stanchion’s arrival in Europe, where research has shown there to be many viable markets and demand for our payments software, services and solutions.
“Our operations now span the full extent of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA),” he concluded.
Mr McIver hinted that the company could expand into North American markets in the future, adding: “The London office also allows Stanchion to position itself deftly in response to increasing demand we are seeing from US & Canadian customers. We’ll be watching this market to see when a US presence makes sense.”
