SurveyMonkey expands into Tech City

SurveyMonkey expands into London office space in Tech City. A few years ahead of its original plan to move, SurveyMonkey

SurveyMonkey is a cloud based company, founded in 1999,  that offers free surveys that you can customise to suit your needs.

Dave Goldberg, SurveyMonkey’s CEO, sang the praises of Tech City, stating that it was “very well thought out” and that it is “unlike anything he or his company has experienced in the US.

Tech City in Shoreditch is seen as London’s hub for technological companies and start-ups. It is also frequently referred to as Silicon Roundabout.

Goldberg added, “With Silicon Valley it’s sort of a free-for-all. There are development groups around the US, but they’re not specifically about tech. The Tech City approach combined with the government is a much more thorough and thoughtful one.”

Goldberg also commented on the fact that Tech City offered them a start-up package saying, “London is a vibrant place for hiring people. In other markets it’s harder to explain to people [what a start-up culture is like] but the environment here is super helpful. It’s useful from a talent and hiring perspective.”

Even though the company is no longer a start-up, SurveyMonkey is known for steering the goals of the company within that fast-paced, start-up mindset.
