Swiss private bank, Reyl & Co, has opened a new office in St James’s Square, St James’s, London.
Head of the firm, FranÃ§ois Reyl, said its offering in the capital would predominantly focus on wealth management – with the UK a particular popular destination for wealthy investors from Asia, the Middle East, Russia and the US.
Ladislas Safyurtlu will take the reins at the new office, with the bank appointing him managing partner – Mr Safyurtlu has been with Reyl since 2007.
Reyl Group CEO, FranÃ§ois Reyl, said: “We will focus on providing services to a diverse, international, high-net-worth client base.
“Reyl London will become a showcase for all of the group’s activities, from the distribution of our investment fund range, managed by Reyl Asset Management, to our private office services, led by Reyl Private Office, and our investment banking activities.”
Founded more than 40 years ago by Mr Reyl’s father, Dominique Reyl, the Swiss private bank has seen over a tenfold increase in staff numbers in the last decade; increasing its staff from 15 members to 160.
Aside from its new London office, the firm also has an office in Paris, which opened in 2004, an office in Luxembourg which opened in 2009,Â and also a subsidiary in Singapore which was formed in 2010.
The news comes days after Swiss wealth and asset manager, Edmond de Rothschild, also confirmed plans to set up a London-based merchant bank.
