Twitter Seeks London office Space

Social networking phenomenon Twitter, is reportedly set to open its first non-US office in the city of London. Representatives from the California-based company were reportedly in London last week in search for a potential office space in London’s West End and the Old Street area as part of the plan to open a European headquarters.
A Twitter executive told the Telegraph: “We are considering London and other European locations to create an initial and small presence in 2011.”
The addition of the company to London ‘s Offices much coincide with the Governments intentions of creating an East London “Silicon Valley”,  named according to its vast variety of hit tech companies based in the area.
East London will receive £400m in government funding to help create the technology hub in the run-up to the Olympics, Prime Minister David Cameron announced last month. The aim of this is to encourage more interest and innovation in the area.
The firm has placed an extra emphasis on its advertising in recent months as the number of users on the site continues to grow at an alarming rate. Twitter has reportedly added 100m new users to its 140 character update service this year.
