Wainbridge has signed construction firm Bechtel to take up headquarters at one of its London office buildings.
The private real estate investment and asset management firm has signed Bechtel to take up 75,000 sq ft of its London office building FC200.
Based in Park Royal, north west London, and offering a total of 160,000 sq ft of London office space, the building was first acquired in September 2011 for Â£16m on behalf of Wainbridge Global FC200 Limited (WGFL). This marks the signing of the first tenant for the office space.
Wainbridge Limited principal and co-founder, Rob Rackind, said: “This is one of the largest lettings in the West London corridor this year and Bechtel’s decision to relocate to FC200 reflects the very high quality of the space on offer at the property, its affordability, and the ease of access via nearby transport links.”
Bechel Corporation is the largest engineering and construction company in the US and is based out of San Francisco. ItÂ celebrated 60 years of working in the UK in 2012 and will look to move from its old office in Hammersmith in June 2014..
Following this letting, WGFL will now look to undertake a huge Â£3.5m fit out of the remaining space as it looks to draw in more tenants.
Mr Rackind added: “The letting represents successful delivery of our strategy for the property, leveraging the Wainbridge team’s property expertise and knowledge of the market to create an attractive office destination and drive value at the scheme.
“We are currently seeing growing momentum behind occupier demand in this part of West London, where Grade A office supply is limited, and have therefore taken the decision to undertake the remainder of the fit out in anticipation of capturing this demand through further lettings in the coming months.”
