Twitch establishes London office on Carnaby Street

Twitch has opened a new headquarters in London, which will also act as its European base.

A video platform, Twitch enables gamers to broadcast, watch and chat as they play, where ever they are in the world. The site currently gets around 45 million visitors per month and has grown considerably in the past twelve months. It told MCV that it has seen UK traffic double to two million unique users during that period.

Situated on Carnaby Street in the City of Westminster, the new London office building features a full studio, which will enable games developers to stream their latest content live via Twitch. The company will also invite video producers to use its facilities.

The office will also house the newly established ten person European team, which includes Michael Thomas, formerly of GameSpot, in the role of sales director.

Commenting on the move to its new Carnaby Street office, Twitch’s regional director, Stuart Saw, told MCV: “This is a very exciting time for Twitch, we’re expanding to meet the phenomenal growth that we continue to experience across the continent.

“We’ve grown the Twitch Media Group to the UK and in doing so have added some exceptional people with a wealth of agency experience, something we feel is very important for our clients,” he added.
